Laddie and Lassie Futurity Qualifiers
 
VINTON, LA—Dash N Cash Fortune romped to a one-length victory in the first of 10 Laddie Futurity(RG2) trials on Thursday night at Delta Downs to become the top qualifier.
The 10 fastest colts and gelding from 80 Louisiana-bred two-year-olds will return on May 15th to contest the $206,200 restricted grade two final over 330 yards.
Racing for his breeder Arnold Trahan, Dash N Cash Fortune broke his maiden in :16.701 to record the top qualifying mark and earn a 97 speed index. Saddled by Heath Taylor and ridden
 
Bobby Ransom, the brown gelding came into the race off a second place effort in the Mardi Gras Futurity trials, his first start, on February 16th at Louisiana Downs.
Heath Taylor also saddled another Laddie and a Lassie qualifier for owner Terry Bell. Look of Magic, a gelding by Toast To Dash qualified to the Laddie Futurity. Jess Big Time, a Big Time Favorite filly, won her trial to qualify second fastest to the Lassie Futurity RG2.
De Toast Devin broke his maiden in his first start in the sixth heat to post the second fastest qualifying time. The Toast To Dash gelding owned, bred and trained by Danny Joe Eldridge stopped the timer at :16.795. Alfonso Lujan had the riding assignments.
Robicheaux Ranch, Inc's Cm Patriot scored by a neck n the eighth race. Saddled by Vann Haywood and ridden by Bobby Ransom, the Game Patriot gelding posted the third fastest time of :16.801. He is now 1-1-1 from three career starts.
LQHBA Yearling Sale's high-seller Illusions Dream won the ninth trial by 1 ½ lengths in :16.807 for the fourth fastest time. Gerald Libersat purchased the Heza Fast Dash gelding for $75,000 at the August sale. Saddled by Kevin Broussard, the chestnut pushed his career record to 2-0-0 from three starts with earnings of more than $20,000. Regular rider Eleazar Guillen was aboard the gelding that finished off the board in his last start, the $249,000 Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2) on March 6.
